Bible Verse for March 21st.

And we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:5
NLT Bible

Thoughts are constantly swirling around in our minds. Some thoughts may be uplifting and edifying while others may simply be defeating and negative. Almost all actions begin with a thought, so it's critical that we gain control of our minds, making every thought obedient to God. We may have thoughts of fear, inadequacy, insecurity and inferiority. Our minds may be filled with thoughts of lust, pride, anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, hate, worry, greed and the list goes on and on. We seem unable to shrug off or dispel these defeating and negative thoughts as they run rampant in our minds and we seem to be consumed by them. This is when we are headed towards the danger zone and before long, if we don't subdue and gain control over these thoughts, we begin to act on them.

We must recognize that these negative thoughts come from the enemy and we have the right to take them captive and make them obedient to Christ. How do we do this? We first have to discipline our mind. Every time these defeating thoughts come, we can overcome them with the Word of God because for every wrong thought, there's a promise we can apply. To be victorious we must claim and appropriate God's Word, speaking it continually over our minds. We need to worship and praise God, filling our minds with all that is good, noble, lovely and pure. It is crucial that we remain vigilant and alert, keeping our hearts and minds centred on God, not allowing the enemy any room in our minds.

Thank you Lord for Your Word. Transform my mind Lord Jesus and help me to keep my thoughts on all that is good and honourable. May I fill my mind with the Word and use it to take every negative and displeasing thought captive, I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
