We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders.
Psalms 78:4
NLT Bible
Our days are numbered and we will not be here forever and as we grow older, this indeed becomes a reality. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we have a responsibility to share our faith with our children and grandchildren. It's a legacy we must pass on and the most important thing we can give to them. The desire of every parent and grandparent is for their children to know God, to love, serve and honour Him. Therefore, we need to be actively involved in perpetuating this if we want future generations to grasp the wonder and power of God and have a relationship with Him.
How do we do this? As this verse tells us, we must constantly tell them about all the glorious things God has done and still continues to do. We must fill their minds with the wonderful accounts in the Bible about the miracles God performed, the struggles the early Christians faced and the enduring faith they displayed in the midst of it all. Additionally, we must share all that God has done for us. Our lives must also be examples, reflecting Jesus in all we say and do. If we fail to share these truths, our descendants will not know about Jesus and what He means to a lost world.
Thank you Lord for Your faithfulness. I pray that I will be faithful in sharing accounts of Your faithfulness and goodness to my children and grandchildren. Let my life be an example always reflecting You. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
