Bible Verse for January 24th.

.....I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.

Psalm 101:2
NLT Bible

The dictionary defines integrity as 'adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty'. This verse tells us that we should live a life of integrity in our homes. What does it mean to live with integrity? It simply means that we are to adhere to the biblical truths outlining all the moral values we should possess and to live as Christ would have us live.

When I thought about this verse, the word ' legacy' kept coming over and over again to my mind. This normally refers to something tangible that is left to someone after their death. Many people would bemoan the fact that they have nothing of worth to leave their children. However, what greater legacy we as believers can leave our children than by showing them the importance of living a life of integrity. Children are watching our every move, silently observing the way in which we're living and make no mistake about it, they are absorbing it all. They see when we are dishonest, when we lie, cheat, and just live immorally. As parents, we have an obligation to leave a legacy of righteousness for our children and grandchildren and this means we must lead a life of integrity at all times. It's never too late to change. If we've not been living with integrity, we need to ask God to help us to live in a manner that's pleasing and acceptable to Him. It's an intangible legacy, but by far the best we can leave to our children.

Thank you Lord for being the perfect example! Help me to live a life of integrity. Let me bequeath my children a legacy of righteousness. May I live as you would want me to. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
