Bible Verse for January 10th.

"This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

What an awesome promise for the child of God! In this verse God promises to be with us at all times wherever we are. So many people feel as if God has forgotten them, as they try to manoeuvre through life on their own. Especially at this time, as the pandemic rages on and people are feeling overwhelmed, afraid, discouraged and somewhat helpless, it's reassuring to know that no matter what we may face, Almighty God is always with us. For believers in God, this is an irrefutable fact. All He asks of us is to be strong and courageous. It's quite easy to feel this way when things are running smoothly in our lives, but it becomes difficult when things seem to be going against us and spiralling out of control.

How do we stay strong and courageous? We can by holding fast to God, being glued to Him and recognizing that He is our source of strength. This involves ongoing fellowship with Him, reading and meditating on His Word and communing with Him through prayer. When challenges arise and they certainly will, at one point or another in our lives, we can rest confidently in the knowledge that God is always with us.

Thank you Lord for Your promise to always be with me. I surrender my discouragement and fears to You and thank You for Your abiding presence. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
