Bible Verse for December 20th.

The people of the island were very kind to us. It was cold and rainy, so they built a fire on the shore to welcome us.

‭‭Acts 28:2
NLT Bible

Paul and his companions arrived on the island of Malta on a cold and rainy day. However, the native people were very kind to them and built a warm, inviting and much needed fire on the shore to welcome them. Paul appreciated this simple act of kindness very much. Every act of kindness matters, whether it's big, small or sacrificial and as children of God, this needs to be a way of life for us.

Opportunities to be kind abound on every corner. This is especially true during the Christmas season and more so this year because of the pandemic. So many families and friends are struggling financially and trying their utmost to make ends meet. Many might be alone, others may be unable to go to the stores or do things around the house. What can we do? We can help someone who is struggling financially, run errands for an elderly person, assist with some household chores, check in with someone on the telephone, buy a meal for a homeless person and be kind in countless other ways. When we truly love Jesus, we are kind to everyone, regardless of status, ethnicity, religious beliefs and we expect nothing in return. We just do it because of our love for God and also because He expects it from us. People may forget the things we've said to them, but they will always remember the kindness we've shown them. During this Christmas season and all through the year, we should seek out opportunities to be kind to others.

Thank you Lord for Your awesome love and kindness. At this Christmas season, help me to not miss opportunities to be kind to others. Let me do everything I can to bring a smile to someone's face and to ease their burdens. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
