"I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid."
John 14:27
NLT Bible
We are living at a time when peace seems elusive and so many people appear to be living in a state of constant fear. They are gripped by it, afraid of what the future holds and sometimes even fearful of life itself. However, when we know Jesus as our personal Lord and Saviour, we don't have to be troubled or afraid. As believers, we can have peace in the midst of struggles, turmoil and difficulties.
None of us is immune from pain, loss or suffering, but we don't have to be overwhelmed by it all. We can allow God's peace to constantly fill our hearts and minds. Storms will most certainly come and at times when we least expect them, but we can weather them because we have the assurance that God is in control. At this time when we all seem to be consumed and troubled by the global pandemic that shows no signs of abating, we can allow God's peace to envelop us and fill our minds with a sense of calmness and confidence. In this verse, Jesus is telling us that He has left us His peace and we don't need to live in fear because He is in control. What a wonderful assurance!
Thank you Lord for Your peace. I know I don't have to be distressed and afraid of the trials and difficulties that may come my way because You are with me. I say no to fear and embrace Your peace. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
