Bible Verse for November 29th.

"But when you give to someone in need, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing."

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:3‬ ‭
NLT‬‬ Bible

Recently, I saw a post on social media that said there's never any need to publicize doing something for someone else. It could be giving a meal to a homeless person or just helping someone in need. Many times when people give, there's a lot of publicity attached to it. Granted, the reason for doing that might just be to encourage others to give to worthwhile causes, but oftentimes, it is simply to be praised for being noble and generous. Our motives for giving should be pure and genuine.

Giving is not an option. We are to give generously, but as this verse tells us our right hand should not know what our left hand is doing. This means we are not to broadcast our giving or make it a grand affair. Giving to someone in need should be done anonymously and quietly with no thought of recognition or reward. We may be acknowledged for our giving, but it's never something that we should seek out. We give because we love God, want to honour Him and also to bless others who are in need of our help. At this time of the year, with a raging global pandemic and a dwindling economy, many people are in dire need of help. As children of God, we can make life easier for many by giving sacrificially and generously without any fanfare. God sees what we do, knows our motives and will reward us for it.

Thank you Lord for all that You've given to me. All around me people are in need. Help me to give freely and generously without any need of recognition or praise. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
