Yes. The Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!

Psalm 126:3
NLT Bible

Oftentimes, as children of God, we go through life in a sad and unhappy state. We allow the problems and trials we're facing to weigh us down and all too easily we forget the amazing things the Lord has done for us. It's easy to be happy and upbeat when everything is running smoothly, but painful and difficult to manage when we feel helpless and defeated. Granted, given the present health crisis, it's especially difficult to be joyful, but we cannot allow the storms of life to overwhelm and engulf us. As difficult as it may seem, we need to focus on all that God has done for us over the years and also make a habit of being joyful about the simple pleasures life has to offer.

For instance, there's joy in having a grandchild run up to you with outstretched arms, and express love for you with unabashed emotion. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 tells us that we should always be joyful. Life will beat us down at times, but reflecting on the goodness of God and His provision, protection and preservation should cause us to be joyful. We cannot allow the difficulties of life to rob us of our joy. It's easier said than done, but by keeping our eyes glued to Jesus, we can experience joy. We can be joyful in the midst of dire circumstances and this is possible if we continually reflect on the wonderful things God has done for us.

Thank you Lord for the amazing things You have done for me. When I remember them, I am filled with much joy. Despite the difficulties I may face, I choose to be joyful. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
