How can a young man stay pure? By obeying Your Word.

Psalm 119:9

Staying pure should be the desire of every child of God. His Word says, "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God". That's His promise to us. Today, many young people are trying to chart their course in life and there's no better way than by living a life that's pure, holy and pleasing to God. Purity involves being free from immorality, wrongdoing and being attuned to the things of God. How then can we as believers live pure lives?

This verse tells us it's simply by obeying His Word. It's essentially our guide for living a life of purity. His Word outlines every step we should take and is our road map for living victoriously. It fills us with courage, strength and determination for each new day and is our weapon to defeat the enemy. We are to guard our hearts and minds and take a stand for righteousness regardless of what's happening around us. We must be mindful of what we listen to, what we watch and the places we frequent. We are flawed human beings and doubts and fears may rise up within us but it's imperative to keep looking to God, to read and obey His Word and spend time in prayer and communion with Him.

Thank you Lord for Your Word. My desire is to obey it and to live a life that's pure and holy. Let the truths in Your Word be indelibly printed on my heart and mind. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
