Bible Verse for August 16th.

The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you; to do what is right, to love mercy and to walk humbly before God.

Micah 6:8
NLT Bible

As believers we oftentimes complicate and overthink what it really means to live pleasing and acceptable lives for God. This verse encapsulates it all and spells it out in a straightforward and simple manner that challenges us to do what God desires of us. We don't have to waste countless hours mulling it over in our minds. We simply have to read and obey what He's told us in His Word. It's our ultimate handbook for righteous living.

God is the source of all that's good and pure and knowing Him intimately is what's required of us. We are to always do what's right, whether someone is looking or not and to extend mercy to others, because God continually extends mercy to us, even when we are undeserving of it. We are also cautioned to walk humbly before Him, being neither boastful nor proud. This verse challenges us to live in a manner that's pleasing to Almighty God. As we submit to Him, He gives us the courage, determination and strength to live for Him.

Thank you Lord for Your Word. Help me to do what is right in Your sight and to show mercy and kindness to others. I pray that I will always walk wisely and humbly before You. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
