Bible Verse for July 19th.

And let the peace of God that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Colossians 3:15
NLT Bible

Peace is defined as mutual harmony, tranquility and serenity. This verse tells us that we should always let the peace that comes from God alone control and direct our hearts. We are called to live in peace with each other, avoid strife and enjoy mutual harmony at home, in the workplace, at church, in fact just about everywhere. Things will always happen to rob us of our peace and cause us to feel anxious and overwhelmed. Life may seem insurmountable and we feel we're in a state of constant turmoil.

We have a choice. We can either give in to worry, fear, insecurities and strife or we can release them to God and allow His peace to permeate and fill our hearts and minds. This is good for our emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. It's easy to have peace govern our lives when we live in an attitude of thankfulness. We need to focus on the goodness and blessings of God, meditate on His Word and spend time in prayer and fellowship with Him. As we do, His peace fills our hearts.

Thank you Lord for Your peace. When things try to derail and rob me of peace, I choose to be thankful and focus on Your many blessings. Help me to let Your peace direct my life. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
