The Christmas season is a special time of year, but many people find it overwhelming and sad. They find themselves consumed by feelings of loneliness and despair and instead of experiencing peace and joy in the season, they spend their days filled with sadness. Many things can bring about these feelings of loneliness and sadness.......loss of a loved one, a broken relationship, being isolated from family and close friends or financial problems.
As this verse tells us, we are never alone. God is always with us, delighting in us, loving and rejoicing over us. We can combat these feelings by taking our eyes off our circumstances and being of service to those around us. We can spend time with others who are also alone, volunteer at shelters, visit the elderly or patients at the hospital. Above all, we can fellowship with God and centre our thoughts on the real meaning of Christmas.
Thank you Lord for loving me. I know that I'm never alone because You're always with me. Help me to not wallow in self pity but to rise up and be of service to those who are in need and alone at this time. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
