Bible Verse for May 5th.

But all they gave Him was lip service;.............Their hearts were not loyal to Him. They did not keep His covenant.

Psalm 78:36-37

There are many people who are good at giving lip service to others, saying the right things without really meaning them. This is sometimes evident in our relationship with loved ones where love is verbally expressed but never genuinely shown. What we say needs to come from the heart and when that happens, it affirms our devotion and loyalty.

God wants all of us. Our words of praise, worship and adoration must come from hearts ignited with a passion for Him. We want to obey and honour Him, share the Gospel and be of service to those around us. Today, if we are guilty of mere lip service to God, we need to rededicate our lives to Him and pursue Him with fervour, passion and obedience. 

Thank you Lord for Your love. Forgive me for the times I've given you lip service. Today, I rededicate my life to you and I pray that my actions will always bring honour and glory to you and reflect a heart filled with devotion for you, I love you, Jesus. Amen!
