Laughter can conceal a heavy heart, but when the laughter ends, the grief remains.

Many of us mask our sadness and sorrow with laughter because we don't want to expose our grief and vulnerability to anyone. Our faces are plastered with fake smiles, but on the inside, we're consumed with a heaviness that suffocates. We will all experience sadness and grief in life, but we cannot allow it to rule our lives. We must first acknowledge our pain, and then with help from God and trusted friends purpose to rise above it and live happy and productive lives.
There may be those who have lost loved ones and are struggling to 'keep it together', others may be enveloped in loneliness, or coping with low self esteem, yet they all laugh to conceal the grief within them. As children of God, we need to reach out and help in any way we can to restore joy and laughter into their lives.
Thank you Lord for Your joy. Many times I laugh and pretend to be happy, but my heart is filled with sadness. Lord, fill me with joy and help me to live a happy and productive life. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
