Bible Verse for October 22nd.

........."Am I my brother's keeper?"

Genesis 4:9

NLT Bible

This was Cain's reply to God when asked about his brother, Abel. Even though his answer was based on his own guilt, Abel didn't think he had to be concerned about Cain. However, as believers we are called to be our brother's keeper. We cannot live isolated and exclusive lives just concerned about our own well being.

We are to move beyond that realm of self absorption and begin to care about our relatives, friends and even strangers. We are to reach out to them when they are hurting emotionally and physically, when dealing with crises  or when they simply need a shoulder to lean on. We cannot call ourselves followers of Jesus and neglect our fellow man. We must be our brother's keeper.

Thank you Lord for caring for me. Help me to be concerned about those around me and help in whatever way I can. Let me be a vessel of love and compassion. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

Lydia
