Bible Verse for July 9th.

You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth?

Galatians 5:7

Our walk with God is like a race that's set before us and our goal should be to run focused and not allow anyone or anything to hold us back. Sometimes, at the onset, we're brimming with energy and passion and then we allow people and circumstances to hinder us and we retreat from getting to the finish line. The next verse tells us that God is certainly not responsible for this, so we must search ourselves to determine what is really hindering us in our walk with God.

Maybe someone has filled our minds with ideas that contradict the Word of God and now we question and doubt our faith or we get involved with people of questionable character and we slowly adapt to their lifestyle. When this happens, we quit the race. Our walk with God requires discipline and endurance. We may momentarily stumble, but if our eyes are fixed on Jesus and if we're studying His Word and spending time in prayer with Him, nothing will deter us from finishing our race.

Thank you Lord for Your abiding presence. My desire is to run the race You've set before me with determination. With Your help, I will not let anything or anyone sway me into altering my course. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
