There's no escaping it. Fear grips us all from time to time. We become anxious and our minds run wild with terrible outcomes. Sometimes we're afraid of the future, of being alone, not having any control, losing our loved ones or jobs, natural disasters and a host of other things. However, when fear rises up within us, we need to trust God and make a conscious decision to push it out of our minds.

Psalm 27 tells us that God is our light, salvation and stronghold and we have nothing to fear. We have to trust Him to heal, deliver, protect and rescue us. When we are afraid, we have to silence our fears with His Word. God did not give us a spirit of fear, but one of love, power and a sound mind. We cannot allow fear to define us, hold us hostage or prevent us from living our lives to the fullest.

Thank you Lord for a sound mind. When I am afraid I put my trust in you. I know that You are always with me, guiding, protecting and keeping me safe. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
