Loving God means keeping His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome.

It's easy to proclaim our love for God, but if it's not backed up by a life of obedience to Him and total adherence to His Word, we're deceiving ourselves. Granted, we will make mistakes and fail at times, but with His help, we can always get back on the right track. When we love someone, we usually do all we can to please them. It's ongoing, but our love for that person drives us to do everything we can to honour them and be the best we can possibly be.

The commandments of God are not burdensome, but they do require us to live mindfully each day. We may feel isolated at times and friends may desert us, because we're not compromising our beliefs or doing things that violate the Word of God. Regardless of what happens, we must keep on obeying God. The truest measure of our love for God is in our obedience to Him.

Thank you Lord for loving me. My desire is to obey you all the days of my life. If I fail at times, forgive me and help me get back on the right path. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
