Wise people are very cautious. They think before speaking and acting, heed the advice of wise and trusted friends, weigh all the possible outcomes before making any decisions, using their knowledge and past experiences to help them. Not so with those who are foolish. They plunge ahead recklessly, focusing only on the immediate pleasure, with no thought of the consequences. Foolish people have a tendency to care only about themselves, to think that they know it all and are always right, and not about how their decisions can impact the lives of others.
Everyday we are faced with choices and as children of God, if we are not wise, the outcome can be devastating. All around us we see evidence of those who have plunged headlong into something, only to end up hurting their friends, loved ones, themselves and even strangers. We should all strive to acquire godly wisdom as it allows us to make deliberate, careful and well thought out decisions that are good for us and bring honour and glory to God.
Thank you Lord for Your wisdom. Help me to make wise and godly decisions, to seek Your guidance and direction so that I can avoid danger. Let me never act recklessly. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
