As believers who love God, our desire should be to please and honour Him and we do this by living holy lives. We live in an age where sin is paraded in enticing and appealing ways and if we are not walking circumspectly, we can be lured into doing things that are contrary to the Word of God. To live holy lives, we must be continually seeking God, spending time in His Word and allowing His precepts and truths to permeate our minds. This equips us to live as we should.
Many things can deter and detract us from our pursuit of holiness and we must purpose within ourselves to live holy, regardless of what comes against us. We have to rid ourselves of destructive behaviour, choose our friends wisely, avoid sexual immorality, resist temptation and keep looking up to God. We're just passing through and our time on earth is brief, so our lives must count for God and we do this by living holy lives.
Thank you Lord for being holy. You have called us to live holy lives and with Your help, I purpose to do so. Help me to refrain from doing anything that would dishonour you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
