Be silent before The Lord, all humanity.
Zechariah 2:13
NLT Bible
Being silent can be daunting for many of us. We may spend a lot of time talking but we can also have our minds overflowing with thoughts, ideas and endless things on our 'to do' list and we just cannot be quiet. As believers, we need to have time during our fellowship with God to just be silent in His presence, to block out all the distractions around us and focus on Him alone. As we do, we open our hearts and minds to what He has to say to us.
All too often, we spend the major part of our prayer time pouring out our hearts to God about our needs and concerns and those of our loved ones and friends and we neglect to be silent. It's during that quiet time that God speaks to us and reveals His truths about circumstances in our lives and we, in turn, are strengthened, renewed and edified. However, this can only happen as we discipline ourselves to spend time in solitude and silence before Almighty God.
Thank you Lord for Your abiding presence. I stand in awe of you, Lord as I wait quietly in Your presence. My ears are open to what You have to say and I am blessed and strengthened. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
