Bible Verse for February 17th.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.

Proverbs 31:8

We have an obligation to speak up on behalf of those who are unable to do so for themselves. All around us on any given day, we see young and old alike being abused, humiliated, disrespected, ridiculed, bullied and we cannot look the other way. As men and women of God, we must take a stand and voice our concerns against these blatant forms of injustice. Many times, people are upset by the bad treatment others are receiving, but they are nervous and scared to take a stand, for fear of being ridiculed or ostracized.

We must let our voices be heard and we don't have to be disagreeable or argumentative in doing so. If we are willing to take that first step, God will give us the right words to say. How can we profess to love God and then remain silent as another person is being taken advantage of? So many people are being crushed by the callous and cold hearted treatment they receive from people who simply don't care. If we are willing to speak out against injustice, God will fill us with His strength and courage and give the ability to say what needs to be said.

Thank you Lord for Your strength and courage. Let my eyes be opened to the injustice all around me and help me to speak up for those who are suffering and cannot defend themselves. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
