Bible Verse for January 27th.

"But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father who sees everything will reward you."

Matthew 6:6
NLT Bible

It's important to be alone with God, to shut ourselves in with Him, away from all the outside distractions and simply pour our hearts out to Him. This does not negate the need for corporate prayer, but being secluded with God allows us to be transparent and literally bare our souls before Him. We don't have to be concerned or conscious about who's around us. All we have to do is seek, worship and praise God, then bring our needs to Him. During His time on earth, Jesus often retreated to a quiet and solitary place to be alone with His Heavenly Father.

Being alone with God allows us to share our innermost thoughts and feelings with Him. We are free to cry out and intercede for the needs of others, with no thought about outward appearances. This involves discipline and perseverance on our part and we must carve out quality time to seclude ourselves with God. He sees our heart and sincerity and it's during our private times of prayer that we get answers to our problems and receive strength, courage and determination to deal with anything life throws at us.

Thank you Lord for Your awesome Presence. Help me to never neglect my personal and private time of prayer and intimacy with you. It's during these times that I am refreshed, rejuvenated and strengthened. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
