Bible Verse for December 23rd.

But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God.

John 1:12

How wonderful to know that if we believe in Jesus and have accepted Him as our Lord and Saviour, we are now children of the Most High God and as a result, we have special rights and privileges. We are made in the image of God and we belong to Him. This guarantees us the promise of eternal life with Him. God loves us with an everlasting love, protects and provides for us, has a plan for our lives and wants to see us prosper. He is always with us and has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. As His children, we also have the authority to use the Word of God to speak to the 'mountains' in our lives and command them to leave.

We also have some responsibilities as children of God. We are to obey and serve Him and live in a manner that's pleasing to Him. We need to spend time in prayer and fellowship with God. Our lives must reflect Jesus.......people need to see us radiating the love and peace that only Jesus can give and should want to be like us. There is no greater privilege than being known as a child of God.

Lord, I thank You that I am Your child and I can call You my Father. What a joy it is to spend time and fellowship with You. Thank You, Lord for loving me, just as I am, with all my flaws and shortcomings. Thank You for the promise of eternal life. May I honour You in all that I do. I love You Jesus. Amen!
