Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

It's said that what we are constantly thinking about ultimately becomes the main focus in our lives. Are we always thinking about our jobs, our homes, our status in life, making more money, our children or maybe our social lives? Are we focused on social media, television, pornography or other lustful pleasures? What are we really thinking about? What consumes us? It's so easy to find ourselves wrapped up in material things that bring temporary pleasure and sometimes harm and destruction. When these things replace our focus on God, we are in trouble and need to pause, reevaluate our lives and get back to where God wants us to be.

We should be always meditating on the goodness of Almighty God. Our thoughts should be fixed on what is true, honourable, right, pure, lovely and admirable. Earthly things can easily disappear, but the things of God are forever. In Him, we find peace, hope, security and the strength to live in a manner that's pleasing to our God.

Thank You Jesus for all You have done for me. God, I want to fix my thoughts on things that are pleasing to You. Help me to not get caught up in the chaos of life and become consumed with busyness and the need for material things that are not lasting. Lord, may my life and my thoughts be always centred on You. I love You, Jesus. Amen!
