Bible Verse for December 18th.

Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16
NIV Bible

At this time of the year, Christmas lights are twinkling brightly everywhere, on houses, office buildings, malls and trees. On dark nights, they brighten up our neighbourhoods, illuminating every little corner. As children of God, we are called to be the lights of the world, shining brightly among those who are lost and in need of a Saviour. When we let our lights shine, we are being examples for Almighty God. We cannot profess to know and love God and not show it. Those around us should be able to see the love of God emanating from us in our words and actions.

When we let our lights shine, we bring honour and glory to God. This means we are obedient to the laws and precepts of God. We are kind, caring, loving, happy, compassionate, sensitive and we treat everyone as we would like to be treated. In addition to this, we also use every opportunity to tell others about Jesus. Many people are sometimes content to live quietly for God, never interacting with anyone and keeping their beliefs to themselves. This is not how God wants us to live. We are to shine brightly for Him through our service to others. If we are guilty of not doing this, all we need to do is ask God to remove anything that would hinder us from shining for Him. When we shine for God, people are inspired by our actions and want to be like us and through it all God is glorified.

Thank you Lord for loving me. I want to shine brightly for you, showing my love in tangible ways. Help me to be kind and generous to others, to be an example and to use every opportunity to share about Your love and goodness. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
