I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf and give thanks for them.
1 Timothy 2:1
NLT Bible
We have a responsibility to pray for all people, not just a selective few. Prayer is such a vital part of our relationship with God and His Word tells us that we are to pray without ceasing. In fact, God has commanded us to pray and we are urged to pray for our leaders and those in authority, interceding on their behalf and asking God to give them wisdom and strength to lead and govern in the right way. We also need to pray for our teachers, ministers, colleagues, missionaries, doctors, those who are sick, hurting and in need as well as our family members and friends and anyone else that God has placed on our hearts.
Our prayers should not be selfish, focused solely on our own needs. Praying for others is one way of showing how much we care for them. Sometimes, our prayers can be specific, based on their present needs or we can simply pray for God to lead, guide, protect and bless them emotionally, spiritually and physically. As followers of God, it is our duty to pray, but it is also such a joy because we love Him and want to be in His Presence. Prayer is our weapon that brings about change and as we pray, we should always remember to thank God for answered prayer. He deserves all the glory and praise.
Thank you Lord for listening to me when I pray. I ask that You will bless, lead and guide our leaders and those in authority. I lift up those who are sick and hurting and pray that You will be their comfort and strength. Lord, bless and protect my family and friends and meet their needs, Thank you for answered prayer. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
