Bible Verse for June 20th.

And we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:5
NLT Bible

Thoughts are constantly swirling around in our mind. Some thoughts may be edifying and uplifting but many are negative and defeating. Almost all actions begin as a thought, so as children of God, it is of the utmost importance that we gain control of our minds, making every thought obedient to God. We may have thoughts of inadequacy, insecurity and inferiority. Our minds may be filled with thoughts of envy, unforgiveness, pride, anger, greed, worry and lust and we seem unable to shrug off these defeating and destructive thoughts. In fact, they run rampant in our minds and we seem consumed by them. This is when we are headed towards the danger zone and before long, if we don't subdue and gain control over these thoughts, we begin to act on them.

We must recognize that these negative thoughts come from the enemy and we have the right to take them captive and make them obedient to Christ. To do so, we have to discipline our mind. Every time these defeating thoughts come, we overcome them with the Word of God. For every wrong thought, there's a promise we can apply. To be victorious, we must claim and appropriate God's Word, speaking it continually over our minds, we must worship and praise God and fill our minds with all that is good, pure and lovely. It is important that we be vigilant and alert, keeping our hearts and minds centred on God, not allowing the enemy any room in our minds.

Thank you Lord for Your Word. Transform my mind, Lord Jesus and help me to keep my thoughts on all that is good, pure and honourable. May I fill my mind with Your Word and use it to take every wrong and negative thought captive. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
