Bible Verse for April 1st.

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13

In this verse, we are commanded to be on guard, to be steadfast in our faith and to remain strong and courageous. This should actually be the mandate of the child of God. We live in an age where it is imperative that we remain vigilant and alert, as the devil is sly and cunning and will do anything to cause us to stray from serving God. We also need to be on guard against becoming desensitized by things happening around us, that are contrary to the Word of God.

We must remain firm in our faith in God, standing up for truth and righteousness. Sometimes, we can even fail God by being silent when we should speak up, because of the restrictions society has placed on us. Our faith has to permeate every area of our lives and should be evident in all that we say and do. God also commands us to be strong and courageous. This can only happen as we spend time in His Word and in fellowship with Him. As we do this, we are girding ourselves with the armour needed to resist the wiles of the enemy and we are continually strengthened and renewed.

Thank you Lord for Your strength. Help me to be alert and vigilant and not give in to the wiles of the enemy. Lord, may I always remain steadfast in the faith. Help me to be an influence of goodness, truth and righteousness. Fill me with Your power and strength. I love you Jesus. Amen!
