Bible Verse for March 1st.

Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts.
1 John 5:21

The Word of God admonishes us to worship God alone, to keep Him in our hearts and to
stay away from anything or anyone that would prevent us from doing this. As children of
God, we sometimes get caught up in idolizing things and people, instead of giving all our
devotion to Almighty God.

Unknowingly, we can allow good things to become idols in our lives..........our family,
jobs, church, friends, finances and basically anything that consumes us to the point of
total devotion and obsession. However, there's hope. We need to stop, reassess our
priorities and ensure that God is first place in our hearts and lives. When we do this,
everything else falls into its rightful place. We need to recognize that when we put things
or people ahead of God, our spiritual growth is hindered. God alone deserves our
worship, praise and adoration and keeping Him first in our lives means we must make
prayer, fellowship and meditating on the Word a priority.

Thank you Lord for loving me. You deserve all the glory, the honour and praise. I
worship You alone, Lord Jesus. Help me to never let anything or anyone take Your place
in my life. I love you Jesus. Amen!
