Bible Verse for March 17th.

People may be pure in their own eyes, but The Lord examines their motives.

Proverbs 16:2
NLT Bible

It's very interesting to know why we do the things we do. What are our motives for doing them? As children of God, it's crucial that we search ourselves to make sure that whatever we're doing, it's all for the glory of God. When we help someone in need or do some other good deed, it must be because we love God. If we're doing it for approval, recognition or reward, then our motives are wrong. We can't hide from God. He sees our heart, knows our intents and is not pleased when our good deeds are for self gain.

If our motives are not pure, then whatever we are doing becomes tedious and is reflected in the outcome. We can be doing everything right, but for the wrong reasons. If we find ourselves being peeved and annoyed when what we do goes unnoticed, then it's time to take a step back, examine our motives and get right with God. When our motives are about serving and helping others and being obedient to God, we find pleasure in what we do and it's evident in the outcome and in our joyful countenance. We need to be continually examining ourselves to ensure that God gets the praise and glory in everything we do.

Thank you Lord for knowing me. You see my heart and know why I do the things I do. Keep my motives pure and may I never do anything for self praise or reward. My desire is to glorify You in all I do. I love you Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
