Bible Verse for January 8th.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Matthew 5:9
NIV Bible

Many of us have witnessed an argument or a quarrel between two parties that quickly
escalated and got out of control. Accusations and names were hurled at each other and
neither party seemed willing to listen. Strife and turmoil is everywhere and seems
inevitable, but as children of God, we are called to be peacemakers and have to do
everything we can to build bridges and reclaim peace. There's no denying that some
people are just contentious and enjoy arguing, but as peacemakers, we have to aim for
harmony and reconciliation. It's not 'sweeping things under the carpet', but rather guiding
both parties to discuss the conflict in a calm and rational manner and looking to the Word
of God for wisdom and guidance.
The role of a peacemaker is not to sidestep or discredit someone's beliefs or rights, but to
allow each party to respect and understand one another, even though they may not agree
and to prevent strife. Jesus calls peacemakers His children and we need to ask Him for
wisdom to be able to say the right thing to diffuse volatile situations and bring peace and
harmony.
Thank you for Your peace, Lord Jesus. In this world that's filled with turmoil, I want to
be a peacemaker, to build bridges and bring about peace and harmony. Help me to say the
right thing at the right time to bring reconciliation to someone who needs it. I love you!
Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
